Website Sidebars

The sidebar is a frequently used part of a web design framework. It the name areas of verticle columns running down the left or right of most websites. The side is often consistent from page to page, but sometimes changes in accordance with contents of the page or website section the visitor is in.

It can be useful to display information or tools that are somewhat relevant to the current webpage, but that you do not want to add to the main page content.

Sites sometimes have 1, 2, 3 or even as many as 4 sidebars, depending on their purposes.
